BiographyWilliam was born on the 6th of August 1999. He struggled to put on Weight and was sickly. He was a very twitchy baby often showing strange rhythmic movements. At four months old William was rushed into hospital with septicaemia . He had seizures but this was put down to his higher temperature. Over a week later just before Christmas William had one sided seizures, lots of them. Initially he was diagnosed with brain damage (on Christmas Eve), in the new year he was transferred to Great Ormond Street, where the diagnosis of TSC was confirmed. He was on a concoction of medicines but still had numerous seizures every day. At 19 months he had a chunk of his brains frontal love removed.
Epilepsy has continued to be an issue for William and has impacted on his learning and behaviour. He has had another brain tumour removed and a lip tumour. He has a feeding tube (Mickey button) as he is skinny and gets lots of chest infections. He is a real handful but a loveable one. We refer to him as captain chaos, wherever he is chaos ensues. He has a real ability for humour and makes people laugh every day.
He undergoes yearly brain scans and has his kidneys monitored closely. He loves Disney, computer games, super heroes and pretty ladies! Well he is 14, ladies should be on his radar:)
