Biography

Sarah is our youngest daughter of 3 children . She has a big brother Harry , and sister Emily (who also has NPC), and is now 24 hr care.

Sarah has always been a very giggly bright bubbly little girl and a joy to be her mum . Concerns for Sarah came when she showed she was struggling at school with general reading and writing. Unlike her sister she had no physical signs so we continued to live in hope. After constant suggestions of possible diagnoses we had to face making the choice to go ahead with NPC testing. Deep in my heart I think I knew Sarah would have NPC but still part of you lives in hope.

Sarah was diagnosed within 3 months of testing. The family are devastated to be struck not only once but twice with this awful nightmare disease.

Sarah continues to be happier than ever, speech and walking are showing some regression but she is totally unaware of her problems and just knows she needs a little help. She suffers some dementia now (part of npc) and can be a little challenged, when she gets confused. She loves life and dancing and music make her very happy. She has been the sparkle that keeps us fighting through the most emotional of times and the thought of her losing her abilities like her sister just doesn't seem possible.

I am so proud of my family and how they deal with day to day challenges. There were never ever such devoted sisters as our girls (and their grown up handsome brother)
