BiographyWilliam was born in June 2010 and at the time of his birth we had no idea he had a severe life limiting brain condition. At about 5 months we spotted his vision didn't seem to be very good, but was reassured by the hospital he simply had delayed vision and this would rectify itself.
At 6 months old William started to have epileptic seizures at which point we rushed him to the hospital, and within 2 days following an MRI we were told William's brain was completely smooth, he would lose his ability to feed orally, never be able to walk or talk, and would remain completely dependent on us for the duration of his life. There followed several months of major health issues, and we were told at this point William would be unlikely to see his second birthday.
William is now 3 and a half years old (happy smiles here!). He does have many health issues, having lots of epileptic seizures daily, but he is a much loved member of our family, he attends a specialist school three days a week, and is a cheeky little monkey who very much knows what he likes and doesn't like!! He enjoys music, being outdoors, cuddles and we feel truly honoured to have him in our family!
It would be fantastic for William to have a quilt because he is shortly moving into his new specially adapted bedroom and it would be brilliant for him to have such loving, special gift to sleep under.
