We received Avas quilt last night on r arrival home from hospital ava has been to have her adenoids removed along with botox injections into her saliva glands and hamstring muscles she is so happy to be recovering at home today with her quilt to keep her cosy its a PJ day and cuddles under her quilt I really can't thank everybody who put time and effort into making this wonderful piece for her its just beautiful and we will cherish it its just perfect xxxx

Biography

Ava was born in poor condition not breathing floppy and unresponsive, no reflexes she had during labour been starved of oxygen. She received cooling treatment and was then diagnosed with HIE 3Ava was born in poor condition not breathing floppy and unresponsive, no reflexes she had during labour been starved of oxygen. She received cooling treatment and was then diagnosed with HIE grade 3. She had no gag reflex suck or swallow so was unable to feed our earliest indication there was lasting brain damage this was confirmed with a MRI scan. Since Ava has fought each day of her life with determination courage and strength she has taught me new meaning to life and now at age 3 she remains non verbal non mobile is fed via gastrostomy and has poor use of vision but she smiles the biggest cheesiest smiles you could ever wish to see and is generally a very happy little girl. .
