Biography

Isabel was born 3 months early, and sustained a grade 4 brain haemorrhage on her second day. Medical staff did not expect her to survive the brain breed as it was so severe.
Isabel defied all the odds, but as a result of the haemorrhage has all the issues she lives with today. The first diagnosis was hydrocephalus. She was operated on and given a VP shunt on March 17th 2001. This was still a month before her due date, and she was tiny. We have nothing but praise for the neuro surgeon who performed this procedure.
Since then Izzy has also been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, visual impairment, epilepsy, ADHD and autistic spectrum disorder.
Izzy is a joy to have in our family.
