BiographyCharlie was born at 27 weeks gestation due to his mother having an infection. His birth was traumatic also as he was footling breech. At 1 day old Charlie had a severe brain haemorrhage, which resulted in hydrocephalus. As a result he had to have a VP shunt fitted. The brain damage has caused cerebral palsy, bilateral hearing loss and sight impairment, epilepsy. He also suffers chronic lung disease from being premature and is still on oxygen. He's always had gastro problems and recently was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. He is also tube fed as his reflux is so bad he is sick a lot.
He cannot sit up, and had poor head control.
He spent the first 7 months of his life in hospital and has been in and out since . He's a beautiful boy.
