BiographyAt my 20 week scan they couldn't see a second kidney and that there was some sort of obstruction between bladder and bowel but wouldn't no until he was born, I was induced at 38 weeks and he was taken straight to NICU,2 hrs later they came back saying he had analrectal malformation , he went down to theatre same day to have his Colostomy formed which he has for life, along his journey in NICU they found his bladder hadn't formed properly he has a tethered spinal cord and urine reflux he spent 7 weeks in NICU , he had urine infections every two weeks that have to be treated with IM antibiotics as his veins collapsed and can't get access, he's had 5 big operations in his short life so has spent most of his two years in addenbrookes, he had a bowel operation in June where they removed his mucus fistula and found that was connected to his bladder so a 3 hr op turned into a 6 hr op and was very poorly afterwards , we are just recovering from a 6.5 hr emergency bowel op as his bowel had twisted and caused him to have distended tummy vomiting and no poo they removed his colon and now has a ileostomy it's been very hard and didn't no there was such a difference between a colostomy and ileostomy we have struggled with weight which means he is on 3 fortinis a day sodium level has been mega low which meant addenbrookes wanted another admission as we couldn't rise it with sodium supplement but with persistence we are getting there with community nurses and constant phone calls to and from addenbrookes it's been a very long journey
