Thank you so much for Freya's quilt received this morning she absolutely overwhelmed with it. She's been in hospital last week with a bad pancreatic attack and is being admitted next week for an operation bilateral splanchnicestomy.

So this blanket will be going with her to Birmingham Children's Hospital next week. It's beautiful.

Biography

Freya is now 11 and had 9 yrs of excruciating pancreatic pain. She had a big operation in 2009 of removal of her gall bladder and cystogastosotomy. She has been on TPN feed. Nj feeds and then ng tube feeds for a total of 7half yrs but now has fortisip shakes and pro cal shots to maintain her weight and her nutrition.
She has coped extremly well with pain but has been hospitalised alot in the 9 yrs. She used to pass her own ng tubes and her community nurse took a video to help other children.
She has helped raise £23,000.00 for children's charity promise dreams to help other children like her have their wishes granted.
Over the last 6 months Freyas health has deteriorated alot due to her pancreatic pain increasing.
The first 3 yrs she was on paracetamol and codeine
Then for 4 yrs paracetamol. Buscapan and tramadol
Last April 2016 paracetamol buscapan and morphine
And now she is on fentanyl lollipops buscapan and paracetamol along with a tens machine to try and help her get thru her pain which at the moment is everyday.
She was admitted into hospital last week at Birmingham children's hospital and on the 31st January she has to have an operation of a bilateral splanchnicestomy to cut the nerves to her pancreas. To hope this eases the acute pain. But it's 50/50 if it will work but will not take her chronic pain away
She has also 12 wks ago been diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression she's on an anti depressant now called sertraline
