Biography

Tom is a twin. We found out he had Hyperplastic Left Heart at 20 weeks and were warned that he was unlikely to survive. Tom was born early at 31 weeks and weighed just 1.3kgs. His chances of survival were slim as no child with his condition has ever survived with such a low birth weight. We were delighted that the Evelina Hospital took a chance and operated on him at just 4 weeks old.

Tom is our 'little miracle' as so far no other child in his predicament has survived (3 years on). He has now survived three heart operations and is about to have his fourth. We're keeping our fingers crossed! Tom has cerebral palsy and visual impairment. He is a cheeky chap who is full of life.
