BiographyFarah had no symptoms and was developing perfectly. On Christmas Morning just before Farahs 2nd Birthday she woke with a swollen left ankle. After weeks of taking Farah to the Doctors and Hospital. She was diagnosed With HSP (a virus in the blood) Farah went to hospital every week for 2 months to have bloods drawn and various other tests. Mum wasn't happy though as GP has queried Juvenile Arthritis but no one had actually tested for it. Once a blood test was repeated it was found that Farah has Juvenile arthritis. To start with it was just in the left ankle and knee. Now Farah has it in both ankles, subtaylor joints in the ankle, both knees, Lleft elbow, Right Wrist, multiple fingers, neck and jaw. Farah also has Uveitis in her eyes, this could cause blindness. There are also big question marks around Farahs hip as her right hand side is very restricted. Farah has regular joint injections under GA, weekly injections of MEthotrexate and Humira injections every 2 weeks. Because of these drugs she also has blood tests around every 4 weeks. Farah has a needle Phobia so these are all extremely distressing. On top of this Farah also has daily medications to take (ibuprofen, paracetamol, ondansetron, omeprazol and Folic Acid). Farahs Arthritis is very unpredictable especially her right knee. This joint seems to be the one that is the hardest to control.
