Cam received his quilt today, he is totally over the moon with it, and amazed at the amazing work you have all put into it. He is chuffed to bits that people all over the world have stitched squares for him! Particularly australia ( a place he loves lol )
Thank you all so much, you really are truly wonderful people, we just can't thank you all enough xxxx
Cam walked from 19 months, which is when we realised something was wrong.
When we finally got a diagnosis, it was devastating, we just expected some physio on his hips.
At the age of 12, his legs gave way, and he fell on a pot hole and broke his leg. After this, he became wheelchair bound, and was in plaster for 9 months waiting for it to heal.
He also has 3 compound spinal fractures, and 3 fractures in his left leg.
Cam is an amazing boy who has dealt with so much in his short years, and has so much to face in the very near future, but is always smiling his gorgeous smile. Especially when talking about dinosaurs, and when he sees animals, his 2 main passions. He wants to work with animals when he leaves school he says.
He cares a great deal for others, worrying over things a child his age shouldn't even be thinking about.
He has very low self confidence, which doesn't help when people just stare all the time, it upsets him a great deal.
He was nominated to be a torch bearer, which was a fantastic honour for him.
He has also appeared on this morning recently, with kent's only unicorn! from Alamanda therapy.
Cam has a dinosaur bedroom so his quilt will fit right in fantastically!
He is loved by so many, and people say once you meet Cam, you never forget him.
