BiographyScarlette was born early after an emergency c-section. She was transferred from Bangor Hospital to Liverpool's Alder Hey and at 3 days old had a large part of her bowel removed. At 1 week old we were told she had cystic fibrosis just like her older sister. Over the next few years she suffered many illnesses which meant she had to have extra medications and sometimes iv antibiotics.
When she was around 5 years old she was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid which meant she needed even more medication.
In October 2014,she was rushed into hospital and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes which was such a big shock to us.
Despite all her illnesses, she also has asthma and because she had some of her bowel removed she often suffers with tummy pains, she never lets anything upset her or bring her down and faces each day with a huge smile!
