Biography

Alyssa was born a healthy, happy baby but at six weeks old we were told she had cystic fibrosis. We'd only heard of one of child with it so didn't know a great deal about it. It was a shock, but we knew we just had to get on with things and keep her healthy.

When she was little she hated having her meds and physio, and would wriggle about everywhere. She never let anything stop her and was always wanting to be on the go. When she was just over a year old she was diagnosed with severe asthma but, again, she didn't let it stop her.

She's had many many colds and coughs, each resulting in extra medications but she's frequently also had some nasty infections that need a more aggressive approach, so she's had iv antibiotics many times and has a nebuliser and inhalers every day.
Now she is a very determined little girl and, although she doesn't like her meds and physio, she now understands she needs them to keep her healthy.
She is such a loving little girl and likes to take care of her sister Scarlette who also has cystic fibrosis.
