Thank you

Absolutely stunned by the most beautiful quilt I've ever seen. Thank you to everyone who made this special quilt for John. I've never seen anything so beautifully made. The detail and care in every stitch is amazing. Thank you so much. He's been sick this week so a lovely treat for him.

Biography

John was born at 25 weeks gestation due to pre eclampsia. He weighed 1lb7oz he was doing well when unfortunately he contracted pseudomonas at two weeks old which almost took him from me but he fought hard to stay and beat it. He left hospital at four and half months old on oxygen therapy and with a question mark over how he would progress as the fight against pseudomonas had left its mark.

By the time John was one and a half, although he was now off oxygen and had no health issues other than silent reflux, he still had not met any milestones - Drs confirmed that he had severe cerebral palsy and would have physical and learning difficulties.

John is now four years old and a happy and clever little boy who although can not do anything for himself physically, understands what's going on around him and knows exactly what he wants. His facial expressions let us know how he feels. He unfortunately developed epilepsy last year which left him in intensive care as his breathing became compromised so he is now back on oxygen therapy at night and has emergency rescue medicine in case he takes another seizure. Johns main problems at the minute are with his digestion which make him very uncomfortable at night and unable to have a peaceful sleep. His hips are starting to sublox but we are working hard on them to hopefully avoid surgery.
