BiographyBrody was born a week late but we didn't actually start to notice anything was wrong until he was 8 months old when he had bronchiolitis and ended up in hospital. From then on he got recurrent chest infections, he was also being seen because his development was delayed and then his consultant was going through different conditions that Brody could have and a micro-array test was done and diagnosed MECP2 Duplication Syndrome.
Brody had constant reflux, a ph test showed Brody was aspirating 24/7, he had his right lung drained because it was damaged due to feeding him from birth.
At 10 months old Brody had a NG Tube in because he was unsafe to eat.
At 1 years old Brody had a gastrostomy and funduplication which means he is peg fed (nil by mouth).
Brody cannot walk or talk but he does get around by crawling.
Brody has recently been diagnosed as having myoclonic absence seizures which he is on medication for but is an ongoing thing because he has started having different seizures.
Brody still gets chest infections
