Biography

During Alice's first few weeks of life her head circumference appeared to not be growing and by 5 week old she was measured below the 0.4th percentile. This began her journey and she was quickly diagnosed as having Microcephaly. Alice wasn't hitting any of the usual milestones and began lots of diagnostic tests. As Alice grew older her list of conditions began to grow but it took geneticists until she was 12 to discover that Alice had the rare CASK gene diagnosis.

Alice is non verbal, on a 20 hour continuous feed and needs help in every area of her life. This year has been particularly difficult with Alice spending a lot of time in hospital following having to have open surgery twice in just 5 days which caused her to spend time in PICU and her digestive system to stop working.
