Sienna was born at full term weighing 5lbs 11ounces. As the months went past we noticed Sienna's left leg going inwards slightly. At Sienna's 9 month check she wasn't able to sit up, she kept falling to the side. We always had pillows around her. The health visitor said they will check Sienna at 12 months to see if everything is okay with her development.
At 12 months Sienna was still unable to sit up or bear weight on her feet. The health visitor came to our home and said she is referring Sienna to a paediatrician. From then on Sienna was in and out of hospital for tests, scans and check ups. From Lister hospital, Addenbrooks, Luton and Dunstable and Great Ormand Street, Sienna has endured countless visits, some being very distressing for her.
Sienna has had botox injections as her legs are very stiff and she cannot walk unaided. As she us so eager to move around she has sudden falls, being so unbalanced. Sienna is non verbal and incontinent and needs round the clock care. Daily physiotherapy helps Sienna.
Today Sienna is a bright living little girl. She loves music, water play, sensory toys and books. Sienna still cannot walk unaided and needs a lot of help. We continue to see 9 health professions and Sienna is scheduled for tendon surgery as well as other surgeries to help with her walking.
