Thank youJacob was admitted to hospital Wednesday. He was having difficulty breathing and was put on oxygen soon after. He had been on bed rest since and his Love quilts, quilt hasn't left his bed. Everyone who comes in mentions how beautiful it is and for a Jacob it's the ultimate feeling of home in a scary situation. This is when these beautiful creations really shine. Thank you all so much xxx | ||||||||||||

BiographyJacob was born on 19th March 2012. He was a happy boy, but he wasn't thriving as he should have been. Jacobs heel prick test came back with raised IRT levels and had to go to hospital for a sweat test to determine if he had Cystic Fibrosis. His diagnosis came on April 27th 2012 when he was 5 weeks old. He was soon started on different medications and physiotherapy to help manage and control symptoms. Jacob has to go for bi-monthly check ups at the Cystic Fibrosis clinic. Once a year he has to go through a series of tests to prepare for his annual review which includes a chest X-ray, abdominal ultrasound and blood tests. At the end of every year Jacob has to go for his annual review. At this appointment his team change/add or adjust his medications and physiotherapy. It's where they make a plan for the year ahead. Jacob has been hospitalised a few times with his condition resulting in needing oxygen, intravenous antibiotics and nebulisers. |
