BiographyKatie-Ellen is a 13 year old girl with multiple diagnoses. Pallister hall syndrome is reported to effect less then 100 people world wide. Since birth Katie-Ellen has had many many struggles. She has a tracheotomy by which she is ventilated via 24/7, she is loosing her mobility due to her feet not growing she is 13 and still a toddler size 11 shoe so trying to balanace her body weight through them is hard for her and causes a great deal of pain. Katie-Ellen is also in renal failure, the doctors due to her other complex health needs are unable when needed to support Katie-Ellen with dialysis or offer her a transplant, which ultimately means we would loose our precious girl. We need to keep what function of the kidneys she has going for as long as we can this means plenty of fluids and daily antibiotics to keep any infection away as each infection damages the kidneys further. As you can imagine this is so hard for us all to take that after everything she has been through and continues to do so we may loose her the doctors won't give us a time scale but had said they don't see our precious girl going to adult services. Heart breaking doesn't come close.
Katie-Ellen spends a lot of time off school due to being so exhausted as you can imagine she's battling lots of illnesses all at once from her breathing to her kidneys. She spends lots of time under a blanket / quilt on the sofa or in bed, so a more personalised one with the things she loves would be lovely for her. Thank you
