Thank youThank you all so much for Leroy's amazingly beautiful quilt. You can see from the photos how much he loves it! I knew it was going to be beautiful, but not this much! We've looked at each square in turn and who stitched it and where they're from. And looked at the tiny dolphins stitched in the quilting! And he's amazed that so much love and care has gone into it, just for him - as am I. I was in tears looking at it. So thank you from the bottoms of our hearts. It will be treasured and well used xxx

BiographyLeroy was relinquished for adoption at birth. However, doctors then suspected that he had some health problems, as he was very small (2kg) and his muscles were already very tight. An MRI scan confirmed that he had probably had a stroke during the pregnancy, and he had severe brain damage.
After a few months in foster care, he then was cared for in a residential unit until he was nearly four when he was adopted.
Leroy's hips have both dislocated and he has had major surgery to reshape his hip sockets and the top of his femurs. Leroy's swallow very uncoordinated and it is not safe for his to eat or drink so he is fed through a gastrostomy tube.
Leroy cannot sit, roll, stand or walk. He has very limited use of his hands. But he can light up a whole room with his smile, and his laugh is very infectious. He communicates using eye pointing and can say a few words, although these are not easy to understand. He is just learning to use a powerchair, and loves crashing into things!
