BiographyNellie was born at 36 weeks and had no problems until 16 weeks of age when she began vomiting. She spent most of her first 2 years in hospital under going tests, scans, treatments including a gastrostomy which was later changed to a jejunostomy and a period spent on TPN therapy. Nellie is under several specialists including Gastroenterology, Surgical, Genetics, and Community Health. Nellie attends an amazing mainstream school who are trained to administer her medications and feeds via her tube. Just before Xmas 2016 Nellie had Botox injections to her sphincter muscles under anesthetic - this was her 13th general anesthetic. This year with her surgeons we will decide how to proceed with Nellie's bowel issues and with support from Community Health we will work through the ASD pathway.
Nellie loves life and nothing stops her from enjoying herself. Nellie especially loves anything pink, sparkly and girlie (but that's what you get for having 3 brothers).
