Biography

Joseph was born 3 weeks premature however stopped growing at 30 weeks, as a result he weighed 3lb 12oz when born. He spent the first two weeks in hospital in the special care baby unit before coming home. He spent a lot of his early years with multiple hospital admissions and stays due to recurrent chest infections and narrow airways. Because of his medical problems we were referred to a geneticist.
At the age of 4 1/2years Joseph was diagnosed with a very rare life limiting genetic condition MECP2 Duplication syndrome. Joseph cannot walk and uses a wheelchair and says a few words. With everything he has been through he always has a smile and he loves Mr Tumble from Something Special.
