Biography

Savannah Leighton presented with a swollen abdomen and not passing meconium at birth, also being sick a lot. Shortly after, maybe 20 hours after birth she got rushed to Alderhey Childrens hospital where she had an operation to remove the meconium. That's when they told us most people with meconium ileus tend to have cystic fibrosis, but they had to wait for blood work to come back. In October 2012 she was diagnosed.

She has been quite healthy up to until 2016 where she slowly started to loose weight and become under weight due to her CF and in June she had a gastronomy peg fitted, and has over night feeds. She has been in a few times this year for intravenous antibiotics which are now routine, every 3 months.

She doesn't let this stop her doing anything. She's so happy go lucky.
