We received Jack's Quilt today, it is truly beautiful, Jack is snuggled up asleep on his bed right now!

His lightening McQueen quilt has been abandoned in favour of the new one!

Biography

Jack was poorly from birth, he was very sick and suffered bad diarrohea as a baby, he didn't gain weight well until he was 6 months old.

When he was one he started having regular terrible seizures due to a bad infection in his chest, ears and throat. This seemed to clear up but he was left with a bad cough which grew worse with time until he was coughing and vomiting all night, he became very listless and withdrawn.

When he was 2 he developed a bad non blanching rash and I couldn't wake him. He was rushed to A&E via ambulance and we were told he had suspected meningitus and the doctors feared he wouldn't survive.

He was moved to the children's ward on i.v antibiotics. Whilst there the doctors heard his cough and took a chest x-ray. It turned out that he didn't have meningitus, but his lungs had collapsed.

After that, his health was reviewed and he was given a sweat test that diagnosed Cystic Fibrosis. To date he is doing well and is having 3 month antibiotics, he had a portacath fitted in February 2008 which has impoved things immensely.
