BiographyAurelia was born in September 2015 with strep b, meningitis and pneumonia. They told us that Aurelia was a very poorly little girl and to prepare for the worst.
She was sedated at 12 hours, once they had controlled the seizures they transferred her to Bristol St. Michaels for cooling. After 5 days of no improvement they said that she was severely brain damaged and that if she did survive she would have no quality of life, and they were considering turning off her life support.
Aurelia pulled through and astonished each and everyone of her drs, nurses, and consultants by breathing on her own. She continued to improve every single day despite what they said. She now has cerebal palsy, high muscle tone - so can be very stiff, and global developmental delay so at 20 months she still cannot roll, sit, crawl or walk and they don't know if she will. She also has bad kidneys.
Despite all of this Aurelia is a very happy and chatty little girl and doesn't let anything get in the way of her smile or laughter.
