BiographyRebecca was born in February 2010. She was blue but we were told she would need a heart scan and at 10 days old we were told she had a congenital heart defect and she would need open heart surgery.
Rebecca would sleep 22 hours a day and struggled with feeding but the community nurse's and our hospital (local and children's) were great and gave us lot's of support. At 6 month's old Rebecca had open heart surgery and is seen every 4 months at our local hospital and every 12 months at our children's hospital. At some stage she will need a new heart valve.
Rebecca has lot's of appointments at different departments for all her other health issues and also has help from occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and the community nurse.
Rebecca is a happy little girl who never moans about anything she has been through.
