Biography

Daniel is an only child, born against medical odds in Borneo. His life was saved when he developed an ear infection and the doctor noticed a murmur while listening to his heart with a stethoscope. Friends and rallied round for him to be flown back to the UK with a medical escort in time to save his life.

He has only half a functioning heart, and has undergone 2 major surgeries on bypass at 4 months old and 5 years old to give him a chance at life. Due to low oxygen levels, his lifestyle needs to be at a gentle pace, and Winter is a challenge every year.

He lost his Dad to cancer in 2016, and developed pneumonia the day of the funeral. He battled his way back to enjoying gentle strolls, though he has a wheelchair in reserve.

His future is uncertain in every respect, but he faces life positively with courage.
