Thank youToday was a special day in our house. The girls received their quilts. Thank you so much to everyone who put in all the hard work to stitch a square and make the quilts and cards for Sophie and Evie. These are extra special as one of my best friends Anna did a square for each of the girls. We are all in awe and can't stop looking at them and showing anyone who comes by the house. Thank you these are very special as are all of you and will be treasured

BiographySophie was my first baby born full term after a healthy pregnancy. She spent 2 days in hospital having antibiotics due to me having group b strep. She came home on christmas day ready for us to start our journey as a family.
She was a healthy baby and toddler. She had the general coughs and colds but no alarm bells were ever ringing about her health.
When Sophie was almost four years old her little sister was born. When her sister was three weeks old she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. After dealing with her diagnosis and starting the treatment regime the doctors questioned us about Sophie's health. We discussed at length how well she was but the doctors decided to carry out a sweat test to make sure she didn't have cystic fibrosis.
The results came back positive, she did have it. To say we were shocked is an understatement, how had this happened? Was she going to be more at risk due to having had no treatment for the past four years? No one had the answers so the preventative treatment started asap.
She started the same treatment regime as her sister. Daily medication and vitamins. She also began daily nebuliser treatments and chest physiotherapy.
She is now at secondary school and trys hard to stay fit and healthy with lots of sport such as trampolining and athlectics.
