BiographyDakota-Marie was born a beautiful healthy little girl or we thought so! She was nearly 3 years old when she started with the symptoms of not being able to walk and throwing up all the time. We took her to a hospital local to us and they misdiagnosed her 3 times.
Dakota-Marie started perking up a bit so we went to see my best friend in Newcastle upon Tyne. She was rushed to hospital, they gave her a CT scan. and that's where they diagnosed her with a brain tumour. We were rushed to the RVI in Newcastle that night and they operated on her the next morning for 8 and a half hours. She has 4 monthly scans for the next year or so. Just over a year and half clear of that nasty disease which is absolutely amazing for us as a family. We have been told there's no current cure for this type of cancer so she will NEVER be in remission. It breaks our hearts as parents to see that and feel so helpless, (it is treatable until they can't treat it anymore) ie if it came back several times etc.
She's now graduated from her nursery and is ready to start big school (reception) and she's so so clever. She's really one in a million and we are very proud of her. Xxx
