Biography

Esme was born with severe aortic stenosis which we didn't discover until she was 3 weeks old. Unfortunately despite having two catheter procedures to open her aortic valve- her heart had become severely scarred and damaged resulting in her cardiomyopathy.

In July 2017, she was ventilated at her heart hospital - the Royal Brompton - due to the size of her heart collapsing her left lung and then sent to Great Ormond Street Hospital for a heart transplant assessment.

She was placed on the transplant list August 2017 and due to her heart becoming increasingly worse placed on a mechanical heart in September 2017. She finally received her heart from an amazing donor family the end of July 2018.
