Thank youWhere do I begin. This quilt is just so beautiful! The love and work that has gone into this is sure to see. Thank you so so much for making this magical quilt for Alfie. He is in absolute awe with it and his face when he spotted Donald duck was truly wonderful.
Alfie's comfort is a little plush Donald duck which he carries everywhere including our many hospital stays. Donald duck means so much to him that we have several of that same duck.
Already this quilt means so much to him. Thank you to all of you, for all your hard work, time, patience and talent. You just sent a huge warm piece of magic to my very special boy. We will truly treasure this.

BiographyAlfie has multiple conditions. His heart condition is a collection of congenital heart defects and is a life-limiting condition with expectancy being early twenties. He has had so far 2 palliative open heart surgeries, 2 heart catheter repairs and is expected his 3rd open heart surgery between 3-4 years. He was born with vacterl association, which also includes diagnosis of anorectal malformation for which he had emergency surgery for a stoma at 2 days followed by 3 other surgeries. One of the surgeries was yet again an emergency due to obstruction and 2 of these surgeries were done just recently as we are still in-patients at our children's hospital. Alfie also has tethered cord with a spinal cord syrinx and newly diagnosed scoliosis, bigid scrotum, dual bifid kidneys with a large kidney stone (surgery for this year), hypoplastic left thumb and fused radius bone. Alfie will have 3 surgeries this year. The surgery which brings most uncertainty for us is for his spine due to the complexity and risks involved. Alfie is also tube-feeding dependant and takes various medications. He has development delays due to so much hospital time and requires physiotherapy to help strengthen his muscles. He wears support boots and gaters to provide stability when standing, holding onto us or furniture. He also has specialist equipment to help with his posture. Despite everything our son is the happiest little boy I know. He is such a determined little boy and thoroughly enjoys life when he's well. He's a lovely funny little character and incredibly loving. Alfie is also a twin of 2 boys and they compliment each other beautifully.
