BiographyDilly was born with very severe talipes. Over the next few weeks it became apparent that this was the least of his issues as he developed problems with feeding, swallowing and with his airway.
He has had surgeries on his airway, his feet and to fit and replace a permanent feeding tube. After over a year with a nasogastric tube he was expert at pulling it out himself. He is likely to need further surgeries in the future.
Now aged two Dilly is a very fast crawler but uses a rollator in order to walk. He is developmentally delayed with no speech and extremely limited understanding. He is very keen to eat orally but unfortunately chokes and vomits on most foods. Dilly is a poor sleeper and is often extremely distressed at night, with frequent nightmares.
