Thomas received his amazing quilt on Monday and it’s fair to say we all absolutely love it! It’s beautifully made with so much detail. It will certainly be loved and cherished for many years to come! Paddington Bear is Thomas’ favourite book and The Lion king is his favourite film so to have both on one quilt is so special and unique. ❤️💙🧡

Biography

Thomas had a period of time without oxygen and blood flow when he was born. This resulted in severe brain damage and him having medication resistant epilepsy.
He was also diagnosed with West Syndrome at 3 months. We have exhausted all front line treatments including ketogenic diet therapy with some success but the clusters of spasms have always returned.
Thomas has had 2 VP shunt surgeries to manage his hydrocephalus and a gastrostomy insertion so we can feed him directly into his stomach.
Thomas suffers from recurrent chest infections and has spent a lot of his life in hospital. Last year he started on home ventilation which significantly improved his breathing and reduced admissions massively. We use suction, oxygen and nebulisers alongside the vent to keep him well.
Despite everything he has been through he doesn’t let his disibities or medical conditions stop him from smiling and enjoying his life.
He is a true warrior and a social butterfly.
