Biography

Lillie was born by c-section healthy and full of joy. It wasn’t until she was 6 months old that she started having seizures. At the time we were told these were febrile convulsions. These would be every 2-3 weeks apart until May 2013 when she had a 40 minute seizure. The doctors started her off on medication and did a genetic test which took 12 weeks for the results to come back. The seizures then only came when she was unwell. In August we were told she had Dravet Syndrome and were given information on what to do. In December 2013 she suffered a prolonged seizure which caused a hypoxic brain injury and we spent 7 months in neuro-rehab as Lillie was now unable to walk, talk or even eat and had a gastrostomy button put in. We have been in and out of hospital since as she has many other issues such as spasms, reflux and low tone. We have had to move to a property that can accommodate Lillie’s needs and it has been especially hard on her brother who was only 5 when the brain injury happened.
