Thank you

Thank you so much to every single person that helped make Charlie’s quilt! We opened it on Thursday after a 3 night stay in hospital so it definitely cheered him up. As you can see he absolutely loves it and won’t stop looking or touching it. You all do a wonderful job and it’s very much appreciated

Biography

Charlie was 3 weeks old when he became poorly and was admitted to hospital for a hernia and surgery to fix it. Whilst in hospital they found Charlie had a heart murmur and he was rushed for an echo which revealed a severe heart condition needing surgery ASAP. He was rushed to Glasgow and the next day had open heart surgery taking 13 hours in theatre.
Charlie also had problems with his bowel and then needed bowel surgery. We were also told Charlie had Digeorge Syndrome. After spending 3 months in intensive care in Glasgow we were transferred to Edinburgh where he spent a further 8 months with lots of feeding problems. Charlie then needed to have surgery for a fundoplication and gastric jej tube. After spending just about a year in hospital he was discharged on oxygen and cpap. In 2017 Charlie had another open heart surgery, and he's just had his 3rd open heart surgery in August 2019.
