Biography

Jamie had a very difficult start in life and spent the first 1.5yrs in hospital trying to stabilise him. He successfully got off TPN at 2.5yrs of age, and was fed via gastrostomy tube.
Over the years he's had many episodes where he's stopped tolerating any feeds, and has spent long period's of time in hospital trying to find a more suitable feed.
In September 2018, Jamie started to have more episodes of pseudo-obstruction. He was in hospital for long periods of time, coming home for a short time before hitting another crisis and needing to be re-admitted. Just before Christmas he was admitted again and spent three months in hospital, ending up with an intestinal failure assessment.
Jamie got home on feeds but within a short time was unwell again and readmitted. Again he was sent home but became very poorly very quickly and was admitted and started on total parental nutrition (TPN), with a plan for him to go home on it.
Jamie finally got home in August 2019, where he is currently having a mixture of TPN and IV fluids and eating as much as he can. He has never let any of his health issues get in the way of him enjoying life.
