Biography

Olivia’s diagnosis followed a long standing tummy ache. Back in September 2019 Olivia started to complain that she had a tummy ache. At first we, along with her teacher at school, put it down to being anxious about the new school year. Her tummy ache continued to be a thing off and on until mid-January 2020 when Olivia’s tummy pain became more frequent. On the 21st January Olivia was admitted to hospital for acute appendicitis. She was treated with antibiotics for a week to calm the infection down, on day 5 of IV antibiotics Olivia's temperature spiked and the decision to operate was taken.
On opening her up the surgical team were faced with a perfectly health appendix but there was a mass growing next to the appendix. Within 2 days we were transported to Addenbrooke's and diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma. That was a a week ago, we are now 1 week into her Maher chemo plan and on the road to recovery.
