It is going to be used as her hospital quilt and she is in hospital now so it's having its first outing!!

Thank you all soo soo sooo sooooooooo much. It is beautiful and she loves it. All the nurses love it too and want one for themselves!

Sadly, Alicia passed away on 17th May 2011.

Biography

Alicia was born a healthy 7lbs 7oz and at first we didn't realise anything was wrong. It was only when we took her to Peru at 4 months old (her daddy is from Peru)and high altitude that she began to have breathing difficulties. She was flown home medical emergency after 5 weeks in hospital in Peru. We then spent the next 6 months in hospital, including 5 months in GOSH with 4 weeks in PICU! She has had numerous operations and hospital admissions over the years, too many to write them all!
Alicia is now nine and has goes into hospital every two months for intensive IVs and physiotherapy, in 2008 she spent over half the year in hospital and missed a dream holiday to Lapland. She now is on permanent IV antibiotics at home, has oxygen overnight and gastrostomy feeds along with twice daily physiotherapy and all her other daily medication. She is being assessed for lung transplant annually.
