Biography

Matthew and his twin brother, Jack, were born at 27 weeks. Matthew was the heavy one at 1 lb 13oz! They spent a total of 4 months in 3 different hospitals. We knew from the very early days that Matthew had had a severe bleed into his brain which was likely to mean he would be severely disabled.

The first year or so was tough with Matthew screaming all night and us being rushed ragged between him and his brother (who had his own problems)

Once Matthew's epilepsy was diagnosed and controlled we began to see a happy little boy who has the biggest grin and whose whole body vibrates with laughter - especially when his brother blows raspberries or anyone says whoops or ssssssnakes (his favourite word!)

He loves being in the midst of things and going over speed bumps in the car! He also likes Big Cook Little Cook and In the Night Garden on TV and being read to. In fact as long as he has your attention he is a happy chap!
