Robyn's quilt arrived today. Thank you so much for all the time and effort that all of you have put into it. She had a hospital check up today and so it was a great day for the surprise to arrive. As you can see it goes so well in her room. The stuffed toy dragons soon snuggled under it!

Biography

Robyn is a lovely girl who copes bravely with a genetic illness that means she tires easily, has to do physiotherapy twice a day, take medicine and needs to undergo treatments every day of her life without fail. She has to do sport to help her cough up the mucus that clogs her lungs.

She takes medicine to control the symptoms and has to eat high fat foods as her digestive system is impaired.

She is an only child as Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder and her parents feel that though they could use IVF to have a second child that would be free of the disease how would they be able to look Robyn in the eye and says you have this life limiting illness but we made sure your sibling doesn't.

As she is classed as vulnerable she has had to stay indoors for 15 weeks this year as she shields from Covid. She says if only she did not have cystic fibrosis!

She so deserves a special gift as she is kind, thoughtful and caring and is stoic about her illness and the way it means her life differs from others.
