Biography

Grace was induced at 38 weeks as she was small during pregnancy. During this Grace's heart rate had dropped and I needed an emergency section. Grace was born in a poorly condition and was taken to nicu where she began having seizures. Tests were being carried out and Grace was then cooled for 72 hours (this is to reduced the severity of the injury to the brain). Grace was diagnosed as having an hypoxic event which has resulted in the following diagnoses - spastic quad cerebral palsy, microcephaly, epilepsy, global developmental delay, cortical visual impairment (she is registered as partial sighted).

Grace has an amazing team behind her from her health visitor, the child development team, epilepsy nurses and all her doctors.

From the start of this year Grace's epilepsy has been more noticeable so we’ve had a few hospital admissions and we’ve also had a gastric button (feeding tube) inserted and we're awaiting a date for Grace to have hip surgery .
