Thank you

Thank you everyone that has helped make Owain very special quilt, this has a come at an excellent time as he is heading into hospital on Monday to have his testicles put in the right place and to have grommits put in his ears. He loves all the pictures and keeps pointing at them.

Biography

Owain was born in Febuary 2009 and was diagnosed with a heart murmur and undescended testes. When he was three weeks old he had an echo which confirmed pulmonary stenosis. At this time some blood was sent away as his consultant felt he may have a genetic syndrome. When Owain was four months old it was confirmed he had pulmonary stenosis and supravlvulor aortic stenosis, these do not seem to trouble him at the moment but will need to be observed through out his life. At this appointment we were also told Owain has Noonan's syndrome. This has a wide varity of symptoms and we are certainly on a journey to discover what these will be.

The biggest problem he has is severe reflux and since October he has been in and out of Ward 5 at Milton Keynes Hospital. Before then his mummy and daddy struggled with feeding him every two hour and being covered in sick most of the time. He is still struggling and we are currently waiting for him to have a operation called a fundoplication to fix the spincter at the top of his stomach. Also he will have a peg fitted as since October he has been ng fed as he is unable to gain weight and eat normally. He may also need grommits fitted as he has glue ear in both ears and his hearing is getting worst. We are still early on in Owain journey but he has already showed lots of determination in his life.

Owain had is op at the end of March which went well, he spent a couple of days in hdu as he had a few Owain moments as we call them. We now back home and getting use to his gastric tube, the best news is that he is gaining weight and now got over 15lb which Mummy, Daddy and brother Josh are really pleased with. We now waiting for his operation on his undesended testes, he has an eye test in june and a hearing review in July
