Biography

William is a 9 year old boy who has had a tough life from birth. We had a very scary pregnancy, with both mum and baby very poorly. William was born via emergency c section at 27 weeks. We were told to prepare to just hold him and let him pass, as so many problems had been showing up on the many prenatal scans we had. He had other ideas though, and was rushed to nicu for a chance , and his fight began.

He had a stormy time, with a lengthy stay, and many ups and downs. So many times we were close to goodbye. He came home at 7 months for 26 hours before becoming really poorly. It was aspiration and caused him to go into respiratory failure. He had to go on ECMO to give his little lungs a rest. Of course he pulled through.

In 9 years he has had many hospital stays. For chest/ lung problems, epilepsy and even a stroke caused by acute hydrocephalus that causes his brain to herniate into his spinal column. He was very poorly again. But in true William style he fought so hard, and was home after 6 months in hospital for that episode.

He is always smiling though, always happy and never ever gives up. He is our inspirational miracle
