BiographyElsie was born weighing 5lb 4oz. She was 2 weeks early as she was measuring small throughout pregnancy. When Elsie was born there were some concerns after it became apparent that she was having difficulties feeding. As a result of this and other concerns she spent a total of 17 days in special care before returning home with a diagnosis of an extremely rare genetic and life-limiting condition, called Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome.
As a result of her syndrome multiple parts of her body are affected including her heart. She has limited vision, is fed via a gj-tube, she has a cleft palate and significant global developmental delay.
Despite her difficulties and frequent medical appointments and therapy, she is the most delightful, sociable and inspirational little girl. It is rare you'll see her without her gorgeous smile on her face.
