BiographySavanagh was diagnosed with SMA at the age of 9 months when her mother noticed signs of not being able to stand on her legs or even sit up on her own. Savanagh’s mum had to take her to the hospital as she had a bad chest. The hospital told her to take her home as she had a cold but later that day Savanagh seemed to be deteriorating so her mum took her back to find out that one of Savanagh’s lungs had collapsed and she had pneumonia. The hospital took Savanagh straight to Sheffield children’s hospital where the doctors told her mum and dad she only had a few hours to live. But she pulled through and is still with us 18 years later. |
