BiographyTegan-Jai was born at 38 weeks gestation via emergency c-section following a period of reduced movements. She had her first respiratory arrest at 6 days old and was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem mass at 9 days old. She was discussed by brain tumour experts worldwide and none of them had ever seen anything like Tegan-Jai's mass before. We were told she wouldn't walk, wouldn't talk and likely wouldn't see her first birthday.
Tegan-Jai has exceeded all expectations in regards to life expectancy and turns 12 in October. However, she fights every single day to be here. She suffers many respiratory arrests, whenever she gets upset she will stop breathing requiring resuscitation. She also faints whenever she laughs, gets too excited, when she is eating or using the toilet. She also has adhd, and spd. She suffers with mobility issues and uses a wheelchair whenever she is out of the house. She has a tracheostomy for resuscitation purposes.
Late in 2019 she suffered two cardiac arrests and required airlifting to hospital.
Despite all that she faces on a daily basis Tegan-Jai fills each and every day with love and fun.
