Biography

Hollie has always been unique since she was born, we had to wake her for feeds. When growing up she understood but never spoke any words. I thought as she was my third child maybe the others spoke for her.

As she grew older she would find running off down the street funny when on a morning school run, unbuckling her seat belt. Me and Hollie spent many nights wide awake as she could not sleep. One school failed her so we moved her to a school where they were very supportive and placed so much support in place for her. We were sent to cahms again. Finally we had answers but kind of left to it then.

With Tourette’s syndrome people don’t see the pain the involuntary movements cause her, the tears she sheds due to the pain the discomfort in her face. She is in mainstream at the moment. Sadly other children make fun of her constant eye blinking and other tics. She can come home so upset it breaks my heart so much as mother. I’ve brought Hollie up to explain to her everyone is unique in life.
