Biography

Lennie was born 11 weeks early. He was extremely poorly and in neonatal ICU for many weeks on a ventilator. There were many times when we were told that we may not be bringing Lennie home. However, he fought hard and with such wonderful care, he did make it home after many months.

Lennie faces many struggles on a daily basis. His hydrocephalus means that he struggles with processing, understanding, memory, concentration
and, most upsetting, daily headaches. Being in his bed and relaxing help these attacks. He is a frequent visitor to hospital.

His cerebral palsy affects all aspects of his life. He is a full time wheelchair user and struggles to use his hands for many things including using a knife and fork and pencil. However, somehow he is learning to play the piano. When in front of his piano Lennie becomes a different child and is able to forget his challenges and express himself.
