Biography

Joshua came to us at 8 weeks old as a foster child a few days before Christmas 2008. We knew something wasn't 'quite right' and it took until he was 21 months and just starting to walk to be diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy for which there is no cure.

We decided to adopt him and make as many magical memories as possible for the time he has with us.

Now 13, he is struggling to come to terms with his life limiting diagnosis as well as autism, anxiety and life in general. He has gone through several invasive surgeries, learnt to walk again and is now receiving growth hormone treatment to boost his self esteem.

He's a witty, polite, charming character who only recently said "I know people with Duchenne don't live long but I don't want to die without having a best friend". He is inspirational and resilient and unconditionally loved by many.
