Biography

Casey was born in 2019 after a difficult birth, Casey was taken to NICU as he was quite poorly and caught an infection (sepsis) he also needed help with oxygen

When we finally left the hospital Casey still had nurses coming round the clock twice a day to give him antibiotics in his cannula

When Casey did get better his development was absolutely fine .. hitting all his milestones. He also started to say words at 16months but by 18 months Casey had regression .. he stopped speaking.. He was then having really bad meltdowns to the point of self harming. I believe this was out of frustration, he was walking on his tip toes everywhere and constantly spinning, lining up toys and looking out of the side of his eyes amongst many other behaviours.

I took him to the health visitor and raised my concerns .. fast forward to now Casey is 3 years and 9 months .. he received a diagnosis of autism after his 3rd birthday .. it is very common for autistic children to have regression something I didn’t know at the time so it was very hard for everyone.

Up until recently Casey has been non verbal.. he’s now starting to say single words again of things of his interests one of which is trains.. Casey loves trains!

Casey also is suspected to have ARFID, he really struggles around eating and has a very limited diet .. he most likely also has sensory processing disorder .. he doesn’t like loud noises or the feel of certain things on his skin and can have a lot of anxiety.

Although he has many struggles he is the happiest little boy I know and has such a kind heart.

Casey loves his bedroom. It’s a safe place for him and I know he would love a quilt for his room especially with it being train themed :)
